“Off a remote island in Sweden lies an even more remote peninsula. In Swedish terms, you can't get much further east. A mere glimmer of green ocean separates the island from Eastern Europe.
There are hardly any buildings and very few people. It's mostly sparse woodland, rugged beaches and small wild animals. The light is strong and white, and the wind never stops blowing.
This is where I had Studio Furillen built.
It's a place for inspiration and creativity; studio, gallery, meeting place and starting point for journeys that have never been made before.
It's also a demonstration of what Swedish architecture can accomplish when stretched to its limits.
It was not built for me, but for guests.
